Position Overview

This internship is your opportunity to step inside the world of Human Resources and see how HR professionals support employees, strengthen company culture, and ensure compliance. Over the course of the program, you’ll work alongside the HR Director, HR Manager, HR Coordinator, and Talent Acquisition team to experience recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance initiatives. By the end, you’ll have a clear picture of how HR serves as both a people-focused and strategic function within an organization.

Responsibilities

• Support HR leaders with day-to-day administrative and operational tasks.

• Learn how to maintain and update HR document templates, from job descriptions to disciplinary actions.

• Conduct I-9 audits and gain firsthand experience with compliance processes.

• Observe and assist with onboarding, employee relations, training initiatives, and HR policies in action.

• Practice handling sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.

• Gain experience in recordkeeping and data management using HR systems.

• Explore the dynamics of working in a collaborative HR team that balances strategy with employee support.

 

Capstone Project:


You’ll complete a specialized capstone project tailored to HR—such as developing a streamlined onboarding toolkit, creating a compliance resource, or analyzing employee engagement data. This project will serve as a tangible portfolio piece for your résumé, demonstrating your ability to apply HR knowledge to solve real organizational challenges.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, Communications,
or a related field.
• Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• A collaborative team player who can also work independently once trained. •Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with social media platforms preferred.

•Comfortable with technology and able to quickly learn new systems.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

•Motivated to gain real-world HR experience and explore career growth in the field.

 

Where This Can Take You:


By the end of this internship, you’ll understand the inner workings of an HR department, from compliance to employee relations. You’ll have both hands-on experience and a capstone project to highlight in future interviews, making you well-prepared to pursue roles in HR generalist functions, talent acquisition, or HR compliance.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• This position primarily operates in a professional office environment, requiring the ability to work at a
desk for extended periods while using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment.

communication via email, phone, and in-person interactions.
• The role involves regular communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders, both in person
and through virtual platforms.
• The physical demands of the job may include occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of office
materials up to 15 pounds.
