Position Overview

The Accounting Specialist II provides intermediate accounting support, including more complex AP/AR functions, account reconciliations, and financial reporting tasks. This role assists with audits, identifies process improvements, and may mentor junior accounting staff.

Responsibilities

● Process a higher volume of transactions and perform account reconciliations with minimal supervision.
● Research, track, and resolve moderate financial discrepancies and customer/vendor issues.
● Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports.
● Support internal and external audit processes by preparing documentation and schedules.
● Train and mentor junior Accounting Specialists or clerical staff on standard processes and systems.
● Assist with system implementations, upgrades, and financial process improvements.
● Monitor compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
● Partner with branch and department leaders to resolve financial questions and support reporting needs.

Qualifications

● High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree or coursework in Accounting preferred.
● 2+ years of progressive accounting experience.
● Solid knowledge of accounting principles, AP/AR processes, and reconciliations.
● Experience with accounting or ERP software and strong Excel skills.
● Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
● Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
● Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Travel Requirements

● This position does not require regular travel as part of its primary responsibilities. However, occasional
travel may be required, up to 10%, primarily for occasional off-site meetings, training sessions, or
company events. Travel, when necessary, will be communicated in advance and aligned with business
needs.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• This position primarily operates in a professional office environment, requiring the ability to work at a desk for extended periods while using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment.
• The position involves sitting for extended periods, performing data entry, and engaging in frequent communication via email, phone, and in-person interactions.
• The role involves regular communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders, both in person and through virtual platforms.
• The physical demands of the job may include occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of office materials up to 15 pounds.
