The Assistant Project Manager supports the successful execution of projects by collaborating with project
managers, cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders. This role assists in coordinating project activities,
maintaining documentation, tracking progress, and ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced
environment while fostering string communications across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements standardized processes for processing permits and plan reviews
  • Occasionally, perform field inspections on active construction sites to monitor structural elements, installation methods, and adherence to approved engineering designs and safety standards.
  • Coordinates and manages inspector scheduling.

  • Attends preconstruction and on-site meetings with clients and municipalities to ensure compliance
  • Conducts comprehensive audits of all inspection activities.

  • Prepare and modify engineering reports, field logs, inspection documentation, structural observation reports, and project records.
  • Utilize engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) to support design review and documentation efforts.
  • Ensure that all testing and inspection procedures meet project specifications, threshold requirements, and company QA/QC standards.
  • Maintain accurate and timely daily reports, inspection logs, and other required documentation in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety protocols and site-specific safety plans.
  • Ensuring Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Geotechnical (Geo) operations remain compliant with all internal standards and external certification requirements.

  • Coordinates project activities, department budgeting, and billing with Project Coordinators
  • Must be available for flexible hours, including nights, weekends, or travel, based on project demands.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification preferred
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience in structural engineering, building inspection, or construction materials testing.
  • Familiarity with Florida Building Code, threshold building criteria, and related inspection requirements.
  • Working knowledge of structural systems, including reinforced concrete, steel framing, masonry, and wood construction.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient with engineering software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to walk, climb, bend, and lift on construction sites in various weather conditions.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • This position operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring flexibility to work effectively from both a
    professional office and work site setting.
  • On-Site Office Requirements:
    • Work is performed at a desk for extended periods using a computer, phone, and standard office
      equipment in a climate-controlled office environment.
    • Regular in-person communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders is required.
    • Physical demands may include sitting for long durations, occasional standing, walking, bending,
      and lifting of materials up to 15 pounds.
  • Field Environment:
    • Work at outdoor sites including wetlands, forests, grasslands, construction zones, and
      undeveloped land.
    • Travel on foot across uneven, rugged, or obstructed terrain, sometimes in areas inaccessible by
      vehicle.
    • Exposure to varying weather conditions including heat, cold, humidity, rain, or sun.
    • Possible presence of insects, animals, or natural and man-made hazards in field environments.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift and carry between 35–75 lbs. of equipment or samples over distances up to 75 feet.
    • Ability to stand, walk, drive, and operate lab and field equipment for extended periods.
    • Ability to bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, climb, and balance as needed during both lab and
      fieldwork.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats in varied environments,
      often while wearing PPE.
    • Ability to use sensory capabilities to see (including close and distant vision, color perception,
      depth perception, and focus) and smell for observation and safety purposes
