The Environmental Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing engineering and testing projects that support sustainable infrastructure and environmental solutions. This role ensures that all project activities are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with client and regulatory expectations. The Project Manager works
closely with technical staff, field personnel, and clients to deliver high-quality results, manage budgets, and
support operational excellence across geotechnical, environmental, and construction materials testing projects
● Lead and manage projects from proposal through completion, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met.
● Develop project estimates, proposals, and scopes of work in collaboration with technical and business development teams.
● Manage environmental projects, including groundwater monitoring.
● Conduct Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments.
● Coordinate and assign resources, including field technicians and support staff, to ensure project needs are met efficiently.
● Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients to manage expectations, address issues, and ensure satisfaction.
● Track project financial performance, including cost control, revenue forecasting, and profitability analysis.
● Provide technical oversight and ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., DEP), specifications, and industry best practices.
● Analyze reports, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design project.
● Review and approve timesheets, reports, and client documentation; ensure timely submission of project deliverables.
● Support employee development through training, mentorship, and performance feedback; participate in hiring and onboarding.
● Ensure all activities adhere to company safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
● Assist with identifying add-on or follow-on work opportunities through client engagement and field visibility.
● Prepare reports and technical documents for internal and external stakeholders.
● Participate in cross-functional collaboration with engineering, laboratory, safety, and operational teams.
● Other duties may be assigned.
● Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, or a related field.
● Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-specific platforms (e.g., project management, data reporting
systems).
● Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
● Willingness to travel to job sites and work in diverse environmental conditions.
● Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and interface with clients and regulatory bodies effectively.
● This position operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring flexibility to work effectively from both a professional office and work site setting.
