Position Overview

UES is seeking a CMT Project Manager to lead and support project execution, responsible for technical oversight, project schedule, budget controls, and resource allocation of assigned projects. The CMT Project Manager will provide ongoing communications with clients and contractors to ensure successful outcomes and timely project completion.  If you're a proactive leader with a passion for delivering results and driving technical excellence, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide management over-site for ongoing projects: technical, budgetary and personnel
  • Lead safety efforts and drive safe working practices on-site
  • Perform site visits as necessary to address technical issues
  • Ensure client’s expectations are being met by responding expeditiously to client phone calls and emails
  • Maintain communications with internal team; engineers, administrative team and executive team
  • Review field and lab reports daily, ensure that data reporting is processed in a timely manner
  • Assist in preparation of proposals for new projects
  • Monitor and maintain reports associated with proposal activity
  • Mentor junior Project Managers and field personnel to enhance team capabilities, support professional development, and ensure alignment with project goals
  • Report irregularities to engineers and supervisors
  • Must follow and enforce all regulatory and safety standards with the team
  • Anticipate personnel and equipment needs to accommodate future project completion

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Construction Management), or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years as a CMT Project Manager

 

Preferred:

  • Accuracy, attention to detail and timeliness with project results required
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Willingness to assist in field testing, if needed
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License and must continue to maintain a safe driving record to fulfill travel requirements of this position
  • Must be punctual, reliable and dependable
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push up to 40+ pounds on a regular basis
  • Applicants must pass background investigation, drug screening and driving record
  • Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)

Travel Requirements

 

This position requires extensive travel, approximately up to 70% of the time, in support of business objectives and client engagements. Travel may be both scheduled and on short notice, depending on project needs. Destinations typically include job sites, field locations, or regional offices, where work may be conducted in outdoor or operational environments. Adherence to all company safety protocols and use of PPE is required during travel and on-site work.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Work is primarily conducted outdoors with exposure to outdoor conditions, including:

  • Sites that may not be accessible by vehicle, requiring travel on foot through wetlands, swamps, grasslands, construction zones, and other uneven or rugged terrain with natural and man-made obstacles such as sand, brush, and debris.
  • Moderate to loud noise levels due to lab equipment, field operations, and construction environments.
  • Exposure to dirt, dust, chemicals, sun, heat, humidity, and varying weather conditions as part of field sample collection and testing.

Physical requirements include:

  • Ability to lift and carry between 35 and 75 lbs. over distances up to 75 feet, involving regular repetitive motion.
  • Ability to stand, walk, drive, and operate laboratory and field equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, stoop, pull, kneel, climb, balance, lift, carry, and push as required for laboratory and fieldwork.
  • Ability to use your senses to see (including close, distant, and peripheral vison, depth vision, and ability to focus) smell, hear, touch (use hands to reach climb or balance, crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit).
  • Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written means in a lab and field environment, often requiring the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
